I mean… Men are faster than women in the general case. It’s not really up for debate— it’s grounded in biological differences. Testosterone is essentially a steroid that women are not working with. There is a clear divide in the competition at all levels of the sport to facilitate this and promote a fair level of competition. The ultra marathoning statistics are fine, but they also have significantly smaller viewership and uptake in the general population. Consequently, it’s more of the Wild West, and as a result, I don’t think it accurately reflects the global running scene. |
