Yes teens are forced to use social media or miss out on interacting with and making friends. The longitudinal facebook/Instagram study that came out a few years ago found that those who abstained felt ostracized. You sound like a boomer who says kids don't need a phone and should just go knock on another kids door to make friends. |

And if kids hated social media so much as a group, they could just use group text messages - especially with RCS and 80% of US teens owning iPhones anyway.
