I have a friend whose son was prescribed Adderall when he was 12-13 years old. She noticed the adverse effects right away, so she discontinued the drug, and took her son out of school for a year. He did much better getting homeschooled, and was able to return to the public school system after a year. Most of the "mental health" diagnoses have to do with metabolic problems. Emotional stress is one of the drains on the body's energy reserves. Stimulants like amphetamine 'shred' our mitochondria.
