Choose a 'startupy' sounding name. - Tumblr removed a letter - Optimizely added a suffix - del.icio.us is still the best domain name ever created - a lot of domains have 'the' or 'try' as a prefix. The standard dictionary names/combos were taken a long time ago, so you need to be creative. Once you are an established company (revenue, funding, etc) buying an "expensive, proper" domain becomes less of an issue. |
