Reddit seems to do fine with mixed content. Just need to have good controls for it in app imo.

Reddit has absolutely massive amounts of free moderation being done every day, and users are constantly being split into smaller groups to handle scale and nuance.

The admin team sits on top of that. And they have access to NCMEC along with full fledged data science teams.

Reddit is VC funded.

Reddit changes behavior depending on signup path, and is also aggressive with admin deletions, but hides acts well. It's in perception only that Reddit still has everything dirty in the open.
Reddit gets very thorough scrutiny from the App Store review team. They have policies on it.
