That's not really the same thing. That's about product development. Letting the market decide means to bring your product to the market and let it decide. I agree that focus groups and surveys are not the best way to build an innovative product but California was preventing consumers from having a choice, completely different situation. |

Californias moves are smart and correct if a bit too overly autious (setting it at 2035).
Ice cars are soon going the way of horse and buggies. The EU is banning them soon, EVs are taking over. The smart thing is to tell the older carmakers to not stick to what they know because that will be gone soon. And because speeding up the transition to EVs will have a modest but significant effect on preventing the worst of climate change. Remember the disasters associated with climate change are already here the longer we wait to take action the worse it will get
