I don't know what country you live in, but new cars in the U.S. aren't necessarily any more ecological. The SUV has been king and now the CUV ("crossover" UV) which is also a huge beast of a car. Even if we switch from gas to electric, this only shifts the pollution to electric generators, which are... coal/natural gas/nuclear Although renewables are trending up (21% in this random hit, more than I expected)
