I've been a web developer for over 20 years now, and the current state of the industry when it comes to job hunting is ridiculous. The incumbent job boards are lacking and could do with drastic improvement.

This is my pitch for building a new platform, hopefully it resonates with other experienced devs here:

- Tired of rewriting your CV when it's already landed you interviews and compliments?

- Annoyed when experience is dismissed because it's a similar but different language or framework?

- Frustrated by search results that don't include the tech you're looking for or aren't even tech jobs?

- Wish all job ads showed pay ranges and remote policies upfront, saving you endless conversations?

- Fed up with being asked your desired (or worse, past) rate/salary instead of being offered market rate?

- Exhausted from digging through company fluff to find the actual job requirements?

I agree it might be missing a few options or some developers might identify as multiple options, but for now it's a good start to at least approach recruiters who specialise in certain kinds of roles.

No, it is not good, please remove it. There are many devs with overlapping experiences.

how you keep this abstract? what is your differentiator?

Good questions. Everything listed in these pain points are problems related to the incumbent sites, either by broken or missing functionality that requires having to do things you shouldn't need to, or doing things that you do need to in a way that's not as efficient as it could be. The differentiator would be providing the right mechanisms to avoid these issues, either by improving on the features the incumbents are falling short on, or adding features they're missing.

Apologies if that also sounds vague, but I'm currently building this and don't want to give away too much about the exact details.
