Otherwise pointless pedantry, but in line with the "nobody cares about quality" ... "the hoi polloi" grates every time I read it. "hoi polloi" literally means "the many", so this is an awkward pleonasm, "the the many", amounting to a lack of quality in a piece of writing. |
