Easier on eyes, more powerful? Surely. But can you just drop .erb files into a directory and turn on mod_ruby? That's the allure of PHP for so many.

No, but you can just run `rails new` and `git push heroku`, which is about as easy as using shared hosting.

Shared hosting is all over the world, most of them provide PHP+20GB for 1/10 the cost of heroku+5MB.
