US Graphics' Disrespectful Response to Vietnamese Designers over Berkeley Mono
5 points by dinhquochan 542 days ago
I wanted to share my disappointing experience with US Graphics regarding their font Berkeley Mono. Over a year ago, they promised to add Vietnamese language support, stating it was “almost complete.” After waiting patiently, I followed up, only to be blocked on Twitter for asking about the update.

When I contacted them directly, their response was dismissive and unprofessional:

“Vietnamese is not a priority because we only have 1 customer that needs it, haha.”

This attitude shows a lack of respect for customers and the global design community. If you’re considering Berkeley Mono, I recommend looking at alternatives like MonoLisa, PragmataPro Mono, or JetBrains Mono, which provide full Vietnamese support.

Have others experienced similar dismissiveness from design companies? Let’s discuss.

Even if Berkeley Mono is good at console outputs or terminal-wise outputs, it is not good for coding unlike MonoLisa or Operator Mono. I don't like at all the behavior of that guy for simply example Houston Mono’s case. It is said to be released in 2024 ,nowadays says 2025 since 2023. Rule of thumb that I firmly cling that “never rely heavily on someone else”
