This is absolutely not true for most countries; not everyone can just increase their debt mindlessly like the US does. My country, for example, has a budget and taxes make 90% of it. That means if we get more money through taxes, we can spend more on healthcare, education, infrastructure, etc. Controlling inflation is also a good thing for most people, as higher prices will impact the consumers and the poorer parts of society. Ensuring abundant supply would be a better way to do it than reducing demand, of course. |
