AAU is a huge problem, but it’s mostly because of the one and done system. AAU coaches, trainers, and rankers have an outsized influence on whether or not players are drafted into the nba. If the nba inserted a 3 years in college mandatory rule, it would solve a lot of their issues. Players would be much more recognizable. More competitive and ready to compete on day 1 instead of year 4. It would also take away most of the power AAU coaches, trainers and rankers currently have. |
