Those charts that show remaining time you’ll be around someone at a given age are sobering. Even if you live 30 years after your kids are out of the house, odds are only something like 5-10% of your total time with them will be in that 30 years. Similar figures for your own parents and grandparents. Those hours with them are few, especially at ages when they can still do much. |
