Poverty has many meanings. The State of Uttar Pradesh in India where I am from used to provide less than 8 hours of electricity per day when I was a child. Oil Lamp is for the times when lights were out. Inverters and battery lamps came very soon. The whole story is spread across my teenage years and of different times. Thanks Sherlock. |
