I was little, but I remember using Windows 95 on a machine that had it pre-installed and it ran stably from what I recall. They're good childhood memories more than that I'd be a revisionist agent

That Windows Vista and newer look better, even if their design languages are mixed (old and new configuration panels mixed depending on which ones they could be bothered to recreate, for example) and are more complex, I don't think anyone argues. I've never heard of anyone using the simpler classic theme for reasons other than nostalgia or performance
