1) Understand the limits of your ability to help. Your local MHMR may be able to advise. 2) Rule out the obvious - drugs. Very unlikely for an abrupt psychosis without any real history. His family may be able to supply history you are unaware of. 3) Helping people who do not want help (regardless of need) usually does not go well, in the end. 4) Let the professionals do the heavy work - your job is to be a supportive friend. |
