Bloomberg explicitly says it is part of an investigation of Polymarket allowing US users[1]. I guess it follows the pattern of the Binance investigation where they were able to show the Binance CEO instructed people to make sure the technical measures they implemented to ensure only non-US people were on their exchange were easy to bypass.
