Also, celebrities with public accounts are ultimately just doing advertising for themselves (and whoever pays them), so you haven't actually escaped the realm of ad-funded networks. When you "own" a "social network" the fundamental asset you have is the audience, and only people with something to advertise are willing to pay for access to it. |
