If you were going to give an example, Switzerland would have been a good one. But they have elements of exactly what I'm talking about, considering there are French, Italian, German quarters of the country. Nordics have only recently become democracies, <100 years ago. To clarify, the context of the discussion was the resiliency of democracy, not some dick measuring contest of which country is presently more democratic. |

Now I'm curious: how is America uniquely more democratic than Switzerland could possibly be?
