Generally when I am seriously looking for a jobs, I look in multiple places not just one. I look within my direct network: Do I know any companies that are heiring that I have contacts at? Are any of my associates/friends/former colleagues posting job openings? I look at places I would love to work: Make a list of companies that you would like to work for, then go to their job boards and see if there is anything that interests you. Make a list of fields you would like to work in (Security, bio infromatics, whatever), get a list of companies in that field, and scour their job boards. Finally, the usual job-posting aggregators like Indeed and friends. I will say that with my last job search I also worked with a recruiter. This was a very positive experience. I got lucky with my recruiter and she was very helpful finding positions and getting me an edge when applying. |
