Stripe Shut Us Down – Now We're Going Crypto-Only for Payments
3 points by drmustafash 593 days ago
We've been running a legit web hosting business, zero chargebacks, fully verified, and Stripe still shut us down, calling us "high-risk." Now, we're moving to crypto-only payments because we’re done with the hoops traditional processors make us jump through.

Curious if anyone else has made the switch to crypto-only, and how it’s impacted your business. Thoughts?

My thoughts as a regular guy who buys things every once in a while: I think people looking for legit web hosting businesses don't want to deal with crypto - for regular every day payments it's still a novelty. A pretty expensive one. They just want to enter they credit card number, and upload their kitty pics.

(Since you posted this question, I assume that your previous customers weren't exactly demanding the availability of crypto payments either)

Sorry to hear about your experience. Unfortunately, this is far to common with Stripe. Stripe shut down my previous SaaS without warning or explanation. It was almost a death sentence for my business.

I built OpenPay (getopenpay.com) so you can flexibly move from Stripe to another payment processor without losing a cent of revenue. Happy to get you set up, and help you migrate from Stripe. Feel free to reach out to me at lancectk [at] getopenpay.com and I can hop on a call with you today to help you get migrated

We've helped dozens of people in your position. We can help you quickly transition the code you've written (our API is basically the same) and get your business up and running again

Are you hosting porn or something like it that many CC issuers don't like?
No We don't allow porn, nor copyrighted content, our terms of service clearly state that
And stripe still classified you as high risk and banned you? Darn, that sucks.
Yes, stripe sucks
