Accomodations like this are common for low cost travelling, the only difference is that these are for medium term stays.

It's literally bed with curtains stacked together, there is no "room" involved.

Dorms and hostels have multiple beds in a room, and guests share bathrooms & kitchens. This is similar.

What happens when eventually a jerk moves in. After 30 days it's near impossible to get them out without a long eviction process.

This type of thing can only work for short term stays, the jerk moves out after 2 weeks so it's a non issue. Or in tight nit communities( you figure out what's actually up with the jerk and help them out).

It's going to be a nightmare with strangers.
