I agree with most of what you said (especially the safety part). But in my experience anti-US sentiment is a part of anti-outsider skepticism more broadly. And there’s a justifiable history to it, with a century of humiliation and occupation that the US was a part of (although less than Japan/UK). Basically they see anti-China sanctions as a continuation of foreign bullying. |
