iPad's form factor (ie, not a clamshell) makes coding from train, couch, bed, impractical.

I think there are cases you can get that turns them into a clamshell on the other hand.

Apple's keyboard for the ipad does this.
If you're talking about the magic keyboard, I wouldn't consider that a clamshell. I mean it opens like this: _ < L
How long has it been since you've used one? They're basically a laptop.

Yeah, that's true enough. I try pretty hard to be more ergonomic so I probably haven't run into it!
