I have a hot take about this: neurotypicals can't achieve this level of proficiency because the type of mind required is just too exquisite. It requires a large bandwidth between parts of the brain that aren't usually that well connected. And it also requires some parts of the brain to not function very well, like ones that break/filter/censor out ideas and impulsiveness. Looking at you prefrontal cortex. That would explain why they are so rare. I might have worked with one. They are just beyond human in terms of hyperfocus, pattern matching and technical memory. It's a humbling experience. |
