Actually I did see a few long awaited improvements landing in gdocs lately (e.g. better markdown support, pageless mode). I think they didn't deliver much new features in early 2020s because they were busy with a big refactoring from DOM to canvas rendering [0]. [0] https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27129858 |
