holocaust survivor mania salinger visited my synagogue and told us she was forced to live between borders of two countries. what saved her life is that she was forced from her home by the nazis as a child in the Summer and her parents who were separated from her in that moment told her to bring boots for the Winter. she survived in this area because of this while other children froze. it taught me that parenting is the most important skill you can have.
