I don't believe it is more of an impediment than looking up stackoverflow to be honest.

I do write my code myself, but LLM offer help. Less with suggesting code and more with comments, improvements or common errors. It isn't entirely reliable, so you need to know what you are doing anyway.

That said, there is little investment in new developers and some rely on AI too much. Companies need to invest more into training in all engineering domains. This is were the value of companies reside for the most part.
