This looks like an okay overview of some of Amazon’s business models.

I’m a little bit baffled that anyone bought into Day 1 trope. It’s a marketing gimmick like, “stay hungry” or “eat, pray, love”. It’s supposed to be an in joke, not something you take seriously and write a blog post over and announce how things are in Day 3 now.

Amazon like every other company exists to make money. By any means necessary, but selling books seemed like a decent way when it started.

I guess jassy is trying leave his mark in the company history. Removing Day 1 mentality and replacing it with Tick 1: every time stock market tickers tick is tick 1.
