It is a purely ideological fork. Some people really didn't like that the Godot twitter account was posting explicitly leftist games (gamedevs with leftist politics? what a shock.) and then they started harassing the devs on github, got blocked, and then forked the engine. It's embarrassing that this is near the top of HN. |
