The reality is that without the existence of publishers the price of almost all texts would drift toward a minimum far below the worthwhileness of any author. So maybe, like art, texts will become sheer passion projects - even technical texts. Otherwise, I'm sure LLMs will be able to replace their usefulness soon. |
