Great post. To add to the usefulness of the protocol, I use the BitTorrent protocol on the WAN to sync files with my own computers and those of family members via my own/our tracker, and also on the LAN when i have to move large files and repositories of information between computers (which i do often). It is surprising to me, to say the least, that people on HN don't understand this protocol is extremely useful to hack with. |
