Very simple - parasocial relationships. It’s the same reason people donate to Twitch streamers. Donate to streamer, get mention, get hit of dopamine. Donate to OF person. Get a “personal” video. Get a hit of dopamine or whatever chemical corresponds to love/friendship. |
