As an Indian, it is extremely naive and childish to dismiss any consideration of the British rule as a "slap in the face". The British introduced electricity, railways, capitalism and a thousand other things we take for granted behind those saffron-tinted glasses. Hell, the British Raj was what unified India into a single national identity. It was more fractured than the European continent otherwise. |

Some people love being a slave, but that is not a requirement for having electricity, railways or capitalism. Just look at any other country.
