I just had to sign a new version of my doctor's office consent form an hour ago letting me know that generative AI would be making notes.

God help us all.

This is so that your doctor can focus on treating you rather than typing out every minute detail. The notes, in most cases, are less important than the doctor being able to pay attention to you. Unfortunately for billing and insurance purposes, you usually need to have them.
If I look at doctor's notes without AI, I see a lot of typos, little mistakes, measurements switched - during my last visit, height and weight were mixed.

So I'm not sure if that would make it any worse.
