No power used by humans exists in a vacuum. In the hands of human beings, most powers are heavily biased towards one extreme in the spectrum. Man doesn't shape the world with the tools of the time - technology shapes the world and the man. Jacques Ellul and/or Ted Kaczynski might be a starting point on this matter. |
