If you can run everything on just a couple servers then the cloud doesn't make sense. There are a lot of companies that have tens of thousands of servers scattered around the world. just tracking them is a headache and you can offload a lot other overhead as well. Remember you are paying for the people full time to be in that computer room either if you do it in the cloud or not, but the cloud allows sharing those costs better when you don't need the computer. |
