That wasn't clearly part of the test. To be ultra-pedantic (this is HN after all), the user's choices don't say "This is more-blue-than-green" and "This is more-green-than-blue". The choices are only "This is green" and "This is blue" forcing you to just pick one, where there is no clearly correct choice. When the color on the screen is neither green nor blue, many people will just pick a random answer. I bet if the choices actually said "This is more green than blue" the results would be different. |

Or people will naturally intuit that they should choose whichever answer they think is closer to true.
