I don’t think that is the distinction people are looking for. IMO software engineer just has too many pretentious implications… It is a bit of an interesting observation though. One of the main distinctions that come to mind when thinking of engineers is that typically they belong to professional societies with ethics codes that would seem to preclude working on some of these user-screwing features, if taken seriously. |
