This new release will make my init.el a little smaller, which is nice, because it means my config was in the spirit of emacs and I was not working against it. The biggest modification in my emacs setup is probably the completion system. I use a combination of vertico, orderless and corfu. Is someone out there who is happily using the built in completion facilities and wants to share their setup?

I tried to switch from vertico to the new built-in fido-vertical-mode a couple of times (so I was using fido+orderless). I was quite happy with its default behavior, the blocker for me was that it’s much slower than vertico (i.e. the latency between each keypress and redraw during filtering).

If someone has any tips to speed up fido-mode (except native-comp which is already on), I’d happily make the switch myself :)
