Check out this: https://mitsloan.mit.edu/teaching-resources-library/boeings-... It's a super fun read. And you're absolutely right: Boeing caused the problem itself. Shifting blame to poor software "accidentally" produced by 9/hr engineers is not legitimate. There was a bug. But it was only a problem because all the other redundancies and safeguards were shortcut and regulators and pilots were mislead about the severity of MCAS system's "corrections" and not given proper data to know when to override it. |
