ASK HN: Startup Dilemma: Product Management or AI/ML Specialization

I’m currently working at a small startup and have been given the opportunity to try a Product Manager role for a couple months. This is a chance for me to gain experience in a different area, but I’ve also been toying with the idea of diving deeper into machine learning and AI, potentially developing a niche there alongside growing as a full-stack developer. Additionally, I’m thinking about potentially starting my own company down the line, so I’m trying to weigh which path might better prepare me for that future goal.

What factors should I consider to make this decision? Has anyone here faced a similar choice? I’d appreciate any advice or experiences you can share. Feel like I'm deciding between three very different paths, and having trouble figuring out how / which one to commit to.
