serious. search engines are terrible and full of useless cruft, making it hard to find new content. search engines tend to create a bubble around you, reinforcing your existing preferences without ever breaking it. curation and web directories are exactly what we need for exploration, as they link to the best resources and avoid SEO spam. the site linked here is a niche example, but a good one.

Right. But you are saying this in a time of "(inferior) automated curation" to delegate intellectual work to electronic pigeons, of "(shallow) pseudo-review curation" to have site pages that are multi-product advertisements...

It is not trivial to have it, in a form that will just reflect your repulsion for other imperfect services.
