I think this is implying the fines go to the site hosting the reviews. It puts the enforcement onto Amazon for example.

i see. this means ecommerce websites need to link review to purchases or face penalties. if they can't prove it then they must take down those non linked reviews to avoid penalties.

this leads to the question can someone create massive amount of fake reviews on a competitor website

we'll have to see the penalties on Amazon if these new fatwas from FTC have any bite
