Same thing happens in chemistry: some compounds are legal, some aren't. If you come up with a clever way to synthesise the illegal thing, it's still illegal, or will be made illegal eventually.

If illegal chemical compounds required tears of children to produce them, and someone came up with a clever way to synthesise those tears?

It depends what is considered unlawful, obtaining the tears and causing the harm, or is it enjoyment of chemical compound?
