The dictionary says that "hecto" is hundreth "from French hecto-, from Ancient Greek ἑκατόν (hekatón, “hundred”)." It was sometimes spelled "hecato" in 19th century. In English, "hexa" is the prefix for sixth from the Greek "hex". |
