Show HN: Dashboarrrd – A Customizable Workspace Canvas for Your Projects
6 points by uziiuzair 686 days ago
Hey HN,

I’m excited to introduce Dashboarrrd, a project I’ve been working on that aims to give you the flexibility to create your ideal workspace. Inspired by tools like Notion, Figma, and FigJam, Dashboarrrd allows you to design customizable dashboards—or “Spaces”—where you can organize, manage, and collaborate on your projects.

Unlike Notion, which is text-based, Dashboarrrd provides a blank canvas that you can fill with various widgets. These widgets range from Kanban boards and to-do lists to embedded content and file management tools. The idea is to give you the power to build a workspace that fits your specific needs, whether you’re a freelancer, a project manager, or part of a larger team.

Why Dashboarrrd?

• Flexibility: You can mix and match widgets to create a truly unique dashboard tailored to how you work. • Collaboration: Invite team members to your Spaces, making project management and communication seamless. • Integration: Easily fetch and display data from third-party platforms, with more integrations planned for the future.

We’re currently in the early stages, but I’m eager to get feedback from the community.

Dashboarrrd is available on a “Pay What You Can” model, which means you can choose your own price, including free access. The goal is to make Dashboarrrd as accessible as possible while we continue to refine and expand its capabilities.

You can check it out and sign up here: https://www.dashboarrrd.com

I’d love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, or any ideas for new features. Thanks for taking the time to check out Dashboarrrd, and I’m looking forward to your feedback!

Cheers, Uzair

Could this be used for doing team visualization dashboards - like metrics displays for a team with KPIs? Or is that outside the ambit? I'm asking because I feel like there is a gap between the easy set up and configurability of something like Geckoboard and the extensibility and power of something like Grafana. That aside, the idea of team spaces/boards with a dashboard feel that is as easy to use as Notion is neat. And the UX looks really nice. Good luck!
Hey Jed, yes! Visualization dashboards is one definitely something we would like to introduce ASAP. For the time being we've added a quick little widget that allows you to embed code from 3rd party sites. I personally use that for custom widgets we've setup on Posthog.

But definitely we would be open to including additional widgets that could import data from different analytical tools.

In addition to this, there are plans of making public dashboards that you can access through a personalized link. A use-case that comes to mind is to have a status page for your product.

I've been having issues managing different work projects in notion because there's not enough separation between ideas. The containerized aspect is appealing to me. Are you going to add docs / ability to link to docs in future?
Hi Angela! We currently have an integration with Google Drive that allows you to select a folder to display in your Dashboarrrd Space. With that you can access Google Drive files from Dashboarrrd. In the coming days this integration will also allow you to upload files to Google Drive.

There is a widget we're working on that would allow you to create a drop box inside your Space. Allowing you to store your files with us.

Very cool, can I add in Stripe information?
Great question! It's definitely in the pipeline. We're integrating a bunch of tools into Dashboarrrd. Currently we're working on integrating Google services, one of which we currently have is Google Drive.

Next services we'll be integrating would be PostHog, and Stripe.

Is it open source / self hostable?
Unfortunately no. I have thought about it, and might eventually consider doing it. But not anytime soon.
