A solution to current day planner apps problems
1 points by maleem 689 days ago
Digital planners should help you structure your day, showing when tasks start and how long they take. Unlike paper planners, they need to be adaptable and dynamic—able to adjust task times and durations on the fly and see these changes reflected in the entire schedule.given that definition, let's talk about common problems I faced in modern day planners

1- Lazy User Experience

Most apps use a form-filling approach for day planning, which is tedious for ongoing adjustments. It usually involves multiple steps to edit a task: selecting the task, editing the time, and saving it. This back-and-forth process can be cumbersome and annoying. A well-designed planner should allow you to adjust the task time with one tap or drag and automatically update the rest of the schedule.

2- Not Native Apps

Many apps don't follow native platform UI/UX guidelines, making them feel awkward to use. Native development ensures smooth animations, intuitive gestures, and optimal performance. Planners should feel like an extension of your hand, easily adjustable with just one hand using single or double taps.

3- Limited Offline Functionality

Most planners require an internet connection, relying on external servers for functionality. This dependence causes delays and affects usability. Additionally, privacy concerns arise when data is stored on external servers. A good planner should be fully functional offline, giving instant feedback without annoying loading screens.
