The editorialized title "Antarctica's winter is now 50F hotter than it used to be" is extremely misleading. The "winter" is not 50 degF hotter than "it used to be", portions of East Antarctica are "up to" 50 degF hotter right now than they usually are versus the same time in a reference year.

This is a heat wave, which is probably related to climate change, and is worrying of course, but it's not the same as the winters in Antarctica somehow being 50 degrees higher than they used to.

In the graphic they also define climatology mean temperature as "what the temperature should be" which is horribly wrong.
